Billboard s two new worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.
Mariah Carey s All I Want for Christmas Is You remains the biggest song in the world, as her 1994 carol spends a third frame at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
The track also ascends to No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
The two charts (the latest of which are dated Jan. 2, 2021) premiered in September and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

YouTube stars Mark and Roxanne Hoyle, also known on the Internet as
LadBaby, have acquired the Christmas No 1 single beating even Mariah Carey. They achieved this feat thrice in a row. “Merry Christmas to everyone and don’t stop believin’ – that things are going to get better. 2021 is going to be better for everyone,” they were quoted as saying.
LadBaby has history on its side. The family act had the U.K.’s Christmas No. 1 single in 2019 with the Joan Jett spoof “I Love Sausage Rolls” and in 2018 with another spoof release, “We Built This City.”
With that feat, they became the first act in U.K. chart history to have consecutive novelty Christmas No. 1s. They’ll expect to make it a threepeat when the Official U.K. Singles Chart is published this Friday (Dec. 25).
Proceeds from LadBaby’s latest single will once again support U.K. food bank charity The Trussell Trust.
Also aiming high is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” the U.K.’s most streamed track of the week so far, at No. 3; the Official Charts Company reports, just ahead of Wham’s “Last Christmas” at No. 4.
