Virginia M. ‘Ginger’ Jones Virginia M. “Ginger” Jones of Southold, N.Y., beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. She was 89 years old.  She was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Springfield, Mass., to Dorothy (Allen) and Michael Marchese. Ginger grew up in Longmeadow, Mass., and graduated from Springfield Classical High School with the Class of 1949. Upon graduation, she attended Smith College, graduating in 1953 with a bachelor’s degree in music. Ginger worked as an accountant for Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company in New York City where she met her husband, Walter G. Jones. They relocated to the North Fork of Long Island in 1980 where Ginger pursued a career in music. She was an organist for Cutchogue Methodist Church and Cutchogue Presbyterian Church.
