About 80 assaults have occurred in Western Australiaâs hotel quarantine system which lacks a singular workplace culture across its multiple sites, a review has found.
University of WA adjunct professor and former WA Chief Health Officer Tarun Weeramanthri, who led the review, made 16 recommendations on improving the current hotel system but suggested more âradical changesâ to have purpose-built quarantine sites could be examined in the future as border controls could last for years.
