SAN DIEGO – It is unsurprising that even two years after his death, Walter Munk, who is known as the “Einstein of the Oceans” is continuing to make waves.

Super Tuesday brought many national and local races into more clear focus and gave some candidates huge boosts while clearing the field of many others, but two races are still too close to call. As of Friday evening, 250,000, absentee and provisional ballots still remained to be counted, and it may take up to 30 days for final results to be reported

At the top of the ticket, Democratic candidates for president flipped positions as former Vice-President Joe Biden overtook Vermont US Senator Bernie Sanders as the front runner for the nomination after 18 states have now voted.

The two candidates competing to be the next mayor of San Diego come from distinctly different backgrounds and from different generations but from the same political party in what is San Diego’s first Democrat-only mayor’s election.
San Diego Councilwoman Barbara Bry and State Assemblyman Todd Gloria will face off in the November 3rd election after eliminating San Diego Councilman Scott Sherman, a registered Republican, in the primary in March. The two elected officials have both served on the Council; Bry currently represents the coastal areas in District 1, and Gloria represented Central San Diego’s District 3 from 2008 to 2016 before being elected to the Assembly.
The San Diego City Council this week approved a plan to allow homeowners to add tiny homes to their properties to help provide affordable housing for students, seniors, and young residents.
