STATE REPRESENTATIVE ADAM NIEMERG

NIEMERG / NEW BILLS INTRODUCED

May 14, 2021 | 7:19 AM (SPRINGFIELD) State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) says it is time for Illinois to follow the science and ease mask requirements for schools and for the House of Representatives where the members are all vaccinated. It was yesterday that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can stop wearing face masks or maintaining social distance in most indoor and outdoor settings. Niemerg said he and fellow co-sponsor, State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) are introducing bills to end the mask requirement on the House floor (HB 4080) and another bill (HB 4083) to end the mask mandate at schools. The downstate lawmaker’s move drew immediate criticism from many other lawmakers concerning House Bills 4080 and 4083.

REPRESENTATIVE ADAM NIEMERG CALLS FOR FORENSIC AUDIT IN SPRINGFIELD | WVLN 740 AM/107 1 FM

Olney, IL, USA / WVLN 740 AM/107.1 FM | CBS Sports Radio May 13, 2021 | 7:25 AM (DIETERICH) A House Resolution calling for a forensic audit of all state spending continues to stall on the House floor despite unanimous, bipartisan support in Committee, according to the resolution’s sponsor State Representative Adam Niemerg of Dieterich. A forensic audit is a systematic evaluation of the effectiveness of state government’s internal controls over the various programs and agencies, and while opponents to the action say the cost for such an audit would be very high, those in favor of the plan say the cost of state government mismanagement is far greater, and a forensic audit could save taxpayers billions of dollars. The House Joint Resolution passed the State Government Administration Committee without any opposition back on April 28th, however the bill has yet to be called for a vote on the House floor.
