Clay, N.Y. What started as a call for a potentially suicidal person ended with a Liverpool-area woman being charged with having two illegal assault weapons and numerous unsecured long guns.
State police were called to 8336 Falcon Drive in the town of Clay on Thursday to investigate a report of a suicidal person.
When troopers arrived, they found 41-year-old Billie Jo Britton barricaded inside her bedroom. After talking with Britton, troopers were eventually able to enter the room, but Britton then jumped out of a window and fled through her backyard, state police said.
23-year-old Oneida man killed in snowmobile crash in Oswego County

West Monroe, N.Y. A 23-year-old snowmobiler was killed Friday night after crashing into a tree in Oswego County.
State police said the crash happened around 9:38 p.m. Friday in the area of Depot Road and State Route 49 in the town of West Monroe.
Police said Antonio M. Curtis, 23, of Oneida, and Justin L. Digregorio, 20, of Clay, were riding snowmobiles together when they noticed a tree across the path.
Digregorio, who was riding in front of Curtis, was able to avoid hitting the tree, but Curtis was not, State Police Trooper Jack Keller said.
