Kano awards N83.4m for animal vaccination

Kano State Agro Pastoral Development Project, KSADP, says it has awarded contract worth N83.5 million for supply of 8,250 vials of Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia, CBPP, vaccines and 20, 000 vials of Peste des Petits Ruminants, PPR vaccines for animal vaccination in the state.
Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia, CBPP, is a contagious bacterial disease that affects the lungs of cattle while Peste des Petits Ruminants, PPR is also a highly infectious animal disease affecting domestic and wild small ruminants.
The State Project Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Garba Muhammed made this known while signing the contract on behalf of the agency.

Lagos, Jan. 25, 2021 The Lagos State Government says it will continue to make regular payments of its counterpart funds and provision of capable human resources to all donor and World Bank Assisted Projects.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya made the pledge at the opening ceremony of a pre-6th Implementation Support Mission of the World Bank Assisted Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Empowerment Support (APPEALS) Project, on Saturday, in Lagos.
Olusanya, who was represented by Dr Olayiwole Onasanya, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, noted that the regular and prompt payment of counterpart funds would facilitate successful project implementation in the state’s chosen Poultry, Rice and Aquaculture value chains.

Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement, And Livelihood Improvement Support Project (APPEALS), with support from the World Bank, on Monday, commenced the harmonisation of Livelihood Package for People with Disability and Special Needs (PWDSN) in Kaduna State.
The State Project Coordinator, Dr Yahaya Aminu, who was represented by Reuben Teddy, said under the Project 85 people with Disability and Speeds would benefit from the package.
According to him, the meeting was aimed at looking at the Needs Assessment document done by the project consultant so as to get inputs from the participants to make it a working document for the implementation of the project.

Lagos, Jan. 21, 2021 The Lagos State Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) project says it will establish 1,465 businesses for women, youths, among others in 2021.
Mrs Oluranti Sagoe-Oviebo, the State Project Coordinator (SPC), made this known at a presentation of the APPEALS Project Major Achievements in 2020 on Thursday in Lagos.
APPEALS is a World Bank, Federal Government and Lagos State tripartite partnership for small scale farmers to access grants in form of inputs in three value chains (rice, poultry and aquaculture).
Sagoe-Oviebo said that the businesses would be established for the Women and Youth Empowerment Programme (WYEP) and the People with Disabilities and Special Needs (PWDSN) across the state.
