Plots are available at the Shady Nook Recreation Centre, where community development officer Katie Tollis and Mayor Steve Bennett recently visited, as well as the Alice and Fraser Recreation Centre. Laurentian Valley received $17,000 in funding from the County of Renfrew – Social Services Relief Fund for Community Gardens in June 2020, but because of the time required to get things set up, this is the first planting season. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is reporting seven new positive cases of COVID-19 and five additional resolved cases.
The April 15 case summary posted on the RCDHU website Thursday afternoon shows 42 active cases in Renfrew County and district with five people in hospital, including two receiving treatment in intensive care and 37 individuals self-isolating.

The cases which have screened positive for variants of concern continue to rise as the number now sits at 72 cases, an increase of 15 since April 12. With 16 new infections reported since April 12, 15 are community cases with one additional school case (a student at Renfrew Collegiate Institute).
