IRSD updates weekly curbside meal pickup service Delaware News Desk The Indian River School District implemented a series of changes to its weekly curbside meal pickup service, effective May 5.  Curbside meal pickup will take place at from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays at four locations Indian River High School, 29772 Armory Road, Dagsboro; Long Neck Elementary School, 26064 School Lane, Millsboro; Millsboro Middle School, 302 E. State St.; and North Georgetown Elementary School, 664 N. Bedford St. in each school’s bus parking lot.    Meals are free of charge and available to all children 18 years and younger.  Morning curbside meal distribution will be discontinued beginning May 5. In addition, sites will now be providing four-day meal bags instead of five-day bags.  

Mears named IRSD Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022

Haley Mears of East Millsboro Elementary School has been selected as the Indian River School District’s Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022. The announcement was made at the district’s Teacher of the Year ceremony on April 29. Mears was chosen as the district’s overall winner from a pool of 15 candidates, one from each school. Mears has been a teacher at East Millsboro Elementary School for the past seven years. She was a fifth-grade teacher at the school from 2014 to 2017 and has been an Intensive Learning Center teacher at EME since 2017. She began her career as a paraprofessional at East Millsboro from 2005-2009. She also served as a social studies teacher at Georgetown Middle School in 2009-2010 and as an English language arts teacher at Millsboro Middle School from 2010 to 2014.

IRSD curbside meal service moved to Dec. 22 Delaware News Desk Curbside meal service in the Indian River School District is being moved to Dec. 22, from 10:45 a.m. to noon at all locations. There will be no service Dec. 23 or Dec. 30 due to the holidays. Meals are free of charge and available to all children 18 and younger. Service will take place at Georgetown Elementary School, 301-A W. Market St., front entrance; Howard T. Ennis School, 20346 Ennis St., Georgetown, cafeteria entrance by indoor swimming pool; Indian River High School, 29772 Armory Road, Dagsboro, bus parking lot; Long Neck Elementary School, 26064 School Lane, Millsboro, bus parking lot; Lord Baltimore Elementary School, 120 Atlantic Ave., Ocean View, parent drop-off/pick-up line; Millsboro Middle School, 302 E. State St., Millsboro, bus parking lot; North Georgetown Elementary School, 664 N. Bedford St., bus parking lot; and Selbyville Middle School, 80 Bethany Road, bus parking lot.

December 18, 2020 Curbside meal service in the Indian River School District is being moved to 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, at all locations. There will be no service Wednesday, Dec. 23 or Dec. 30, due to the winter break. Meals are free of charge and available to all children 18 years and under. Service takes place at the following locations: Georgetown Elementary School front entrance; Howard T. Ennis School cafeteria entrance by indoor swimming pool; Indian River High School bus parking lot; Long Neck Elementary School bus parking lot; Lord Baltimore Elementary School parent drop-off/pickup line; Millsboro Middle School bus parking lot; North Georgetown Elementary School bus parking lot; and Selbyville Middle School bus parking lot.
