Ontario recorded fewer than 1,800 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday a possible sign that the curve might be flattening but a more contagious variant of the virus is now emerging.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDH), which has been tracking a deadly outbreak at Roberta Place nursing home in Barrie, said 99 people have tested positive for a variant in addition to seven previous confirmed cases of the U.K. strain.
