Around 400 protestors gathered outside a church near Edmonton on Sunday after it was closed last week for violating COVID-19 health orders.
The range road in front of GraceLife Church located off Highway 627 about five kilometres west of the Edmonton city limits was closed to traffic Sunday and became the scene of a protest that lasted much of the day. RCMP had several vehicles and officers in the area.

On Sunday, California-based Pastor John MacArthur commended the members of GraceLife Church in Alberta, Canada, as they have begun meeting privately amid a continued government crackdown on their freedom to hold worship services.
“Amazing to have an underground church in Canada,” said MacArthur, pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley. “This because the government of Alberta triple-fenced the church in and locked it so people couldn’t get there.”
The American preacher said there is now “a massive outcry” of support for the Canadian church as it continues to face intense restrictions.
