Repeat sex offender who urged girlfriend to molest her sons and film it can’t beat decades-long jail term
Updated Dec 28, 2020;
A repeat sex offender convicted of trying to coerce his girlfriend to film herself engaging in sex acts with her teenage sons deserves no break on a prison sentence that could keep him behind bars for the rest of his life, a state appeals court has ruled.
In an opinion by Judge Alice Beck Dubow, the Superior Court panel rejected Joshua Stump’s claims that he was convicted of multiple sex crimes by a Lebanon County jury based on his girlfriend’s lies. Stump, 41, of Fredericksburg, is serving a 26- to 55-year prison term.
Social media posts by judge’s secretary didn’t skew trial of DUI driver who killed motorcyclist, Pa. court says
Updated Dec 24, 2020;
Social media posts by the judge’s secretary didn’t taint the trial of a Pennsylvania driver convicted for the DUI hit and run death of a motorcyclist, a state Superior Court panel has found.
The police didn’t violate Paul Morrisroe’s civil rights in conducting the searches that produced the evidence that led to his arrest, either, Judge Alice Beck Dubow conclude in the state court’s opinion.
In fact, she noted, Morrisroe left a 15-mile trail of sorts from the spot where he struck Dakota Heinaman’s bike on Route 646 near Cyclone after leaving a bar in McKean County in June 2015. Heinaman, 20, died at the scene, which was near his own driveway.
