SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): A critical part in the distribution of the temperature-sensitive Covid-19 vaccines, made by Moderna and Pfizer and BioNTech, is to ensure a specified temperature range is maintained.
In Singapore, stringent checks are in place that ensure the cold chain for these vaccines is not compromised and that the vaccines remain safe and effective, experts said on Thursday (Dec 17) during a Straits Times webinar on Covid-19 vaccination.
Their assurance comes after the Government announced on Monday its plans to roll out Covid-19 vaccines in Singapore soon, including the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): A blogger, who has been featured riding her motorcycle overseas various times by the media, was awarded S$60,000 in damages after winning a defamation suit in the State Courts on Tuesday (Dec 15).
After a three-day trial, the court found that social media personality Vaune Phan had been defamed by Mark Yeow on four occasions last year.
He had posted three defamatory statements on Facebook and had sent a separate one to a WhatsApp chat group, according to court documents.
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has revealed why she broke up with her former fiance, actor Li Chen.
Fan, who was embroiled in a tax-evasion scandal in 2018, said she initiated the break-up 18 months ago to avoid implicating him.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Singapore has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the United States to deepen economic cooperation and extend trade financing and investment support to their respective companies.
The MOU aims to improve the availability of and access to trade financing options for companies from both countries, said the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) in a press release on Wednesday morning (Dec 16).
This will help remedy the global tightening of credit following the economic slowdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, said MTI. It will also facilitate bilateral trade in goods and services to enhance growth opportunities.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Vietnam and Singapore are planning to launch a green lane for business and official travel by the start of next year.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Permanent Secretary Chee Wee Kiong and Vietnam s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung agreed to conclude ongoing discussions on the green lane arrangement and restore regular commercial return flights between the two countries, MFA said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 15).
