Hunter named new Goodwill CEO

Goodwill of Central Iowa announced earlier this month that Mary Hunter has been named as its new CEO and president. The move was effective Nov. 2, according to a news release. Before joining Goodwill, she held leadership positions in both nonprofit and for-profit companies in the area. She held several executive roles at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Before that, Hunter worked at Hy-Vee, where she was assistant vice president of real estate during the company’s peak expansion period. She also has served as commissioner for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. She currently serves on the state’s Consumer Advisory Panel and is a member of the Clive Public Arts Commission. Hunter fills a role left vacant when Jackie Norris stepped down earlier in the year.

Services for Quinton Airhart will be held Sunday, December 27. The family will attend a private burial at 1 PM. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM in the front yard of the Airhart Homestead. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Quinton Elonzo Airhart was born February 15, 1941 to J.E. and Pearl Airhart. He was the fourth of six children and grew up in the Sparenburg community. Quinton was baptized at an early age in the Sparenburg Baptist Church.
He graduated from Klondike High School, where he met the love of his life, Sharon Vogler Airhart. They were married June 10, 1960 and were married 57 wonderful years until Sharon passed in 2018. They spent the first years of their life together living in the Knott community and farming cotton. They were members of the Knott Riding Club, where he and Sharon taught their daughters Elonna, Roxanne and Shelby the importance of community and developed thei
