Ochsner Eat Fit Dine Out Supports Local Restaurants on Friday, June 4
BATON ROUGE –Eat Fit BR, an Ochsner Health initiative in collaboration with Healthy BR, hosts its 8th annual Eat Fit Dine Out Day on Friday, June 4, in support of Eat Fit dietitians who educate and empower Louisiana residents through their health and wellness journeys.
On Eat Fit Dine Out Day, Ochsner encourages the community to celebrate our local Eat Fit partners by visiting and supporting participating restaurants. In past years, restaurant partners had the opportunity to give back a portion of proceeds from Eat Fit Dine Out Day to Eat Fit’s nonprofit initiative.

MARQUETTE The Superior Health Foundation held its spring grants celebration on Wednesday night, distributing 18 grant awards totaling over $272,000 to health-focused organizations serving the Upper Peninsula.
The grants were presented at a reduced-capacity, socially distanced ceremony at the Holiday Inn in Marquette. Around $126,000 was distributed in spring grant funding, while nearly $100,000 was awarded to address children’s mental health in the U.P. through a partnership with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Michigan. NEW BEDFORD The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center will introduce a bilingual benefits enrollment specialist credited to a $45,000 grant by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation. This is critical to help uninsured patients get coverage that gives them access to primary care and other health services both here at GNBCHC as well as SouthCoast and other health providers, said CEO Cheryl Bartlett in a statement.
According to a BCBS press release, GNBCHC is one of 64 community-based programs that received a total of $3 million in grants. This benefitted organizations that promote sustainable improvements in health care access for low-income and uninsured residents in the state. The Foundation has granted more than $73 million in total over the past two decades.
