How long have you been a host at WTJU? 7 years Why did you become a WTJU host? I started DJ-ing at my college radio station when I was an undergraduate student at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. I fell head over heels in love with the experience of sharing my deep love of music with listeners from all over the city. Joining the lineup of hosts at WTJU helped me to establish a sense of community in Charlottesville when I moved here in 2013.

(WVIR) - Giant Food presented a $60,000 check Thursday, February 4, to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (BRAFB). The money will provide around 110,000 pounds of family-friendly food for partner pantries operating near Giant grocery stores in BRAFB’s service area. The food bank has had to purchase more items than usual to meet the growing needs for help. BRAFB CEO Michael McKee says donations like this are paramount in helping respond to the lingering coronavirus pandemic.

This is the 3rd Annual Commissioners and Cans Food and Fund Drive for the Commonwealth. The two-week event is to help raise food and funds for area food banks to help fight against food security in Virginia.
