Those were two of the questions the New Hampshire House Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee faced at a virtual hearing on House Bill 473. The bill would require landlords to add one sentence to rental agreements of over a month’s duration indicating that the landlord’s insurance does not cover the tenant’s belongings from loss or damage and that the landlord recommends that the tenant purchase renter’s insurance, the cost of which would be borne by the tenant. The bill doesn’t mention any penalties for those that failure to do so.

48 notices issued to traders in Johor — KPDNHEP

JOHOR BAHRU (Jan 24): The Johor branch of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) has issued 48 notices to traders in the state, after monitoring closely on essential goods and supplies from Jan 1 until yesterday. State Unity, Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Dr Chong Fat Full said the notices under Section 21 of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act (AKHAP) 2011, were issued for further investigation on price increase and if there were elements of profiteering.

Wilkinson named president of North Georgia Technical College Wilkinson named president of North Georgia Technical College CTAE leader and former State Senator to lead college February 1  John Wilkinson Former District 50 State Senator John Wilkinson of Toccoa has been named President of North Georgia Technical College. Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Greg Dozier announced his appointment today. Wilkinson spent nine years in the State Senate. He chose not to seek reelection last year to run for Congress. His term officially ended on Jan. 11. The former senator will succeed the late Mark Ivester as NGTC president. Ivester died last year from COVID.
