A luxury Australian clothing brand is selling fur labelled as raccoon that testing has identified as raccoon dog, an unrelated species which is often mistreated in the international fur trade.
Forensic testing conducted by British textile analysis firm Microtex showed Alexandra Australia is selling coloured fur cuffs made from the fur of raccoon dogs, which are often electrocuted, bludgeoned to death or skinned alive.

Victorians desperate to secure rental properties are being preyed upon by scammers posing as landlords on Facebook.
As fierce competition drives up rents, scammers are advertising fraudulent property offers.

Police said people in the Echuca, Shepparton and Traralgon areas had reportedly been targeted by the scam and victims should contact their local police station.
Consumer Affairs Victoria recorded 31 reports of rental scams last financial year and said some scammers were showing renters properties they had no right to rent out. In other instances, people are asked to hand over rent and bonds for properties they have never inspected.
