Gold hallmarking is a purity certification of the precious metal and is voluntary in nature at present.
The government on Monday extended its deadline for mandatory hallmarking of gold jewellery to June 15 from its previous deadline of June 1. Hallmarking of Gold Jewellery is set to begin from 15th June 2021. In view of Covid, Government accepted the request of stakeholders to give jewellers some more time to get prepared for implementation and resolve issues. Earlier it was expected to be implemented from 1 June 2021, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution said in a press release.

Procurement of wheat in the ongoing Rabi marketing season 2021-22 has witnessed a 13 per cent increase over the previous year as till May 24, 390 LMT has been procured compared to last year s 344 LMT.
Wheat procurement has been done from states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and union territory of Jammu & Kashmir at minimum support price or MSP, as was done in previous seasons.

The Delhi High Court Tuesday expressed hope that the Delhi government would expeditiously finalise its policy for providing ration to poor people, especially destitute women and disabled children, so that they do not starve for want of food during the pandemic.
Justice Rekha Palli observation came after the Delhi government, represented by standing counsel Santosh K Tripathi, said its policy to provide ration and food to the poor was underway and would be finalised soon.

PUTRAJAYA: The two-hour shopping time limit at retail premises will be monitored through the MySejahtera application, says Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi

He said the MySejahtera application records the exact time a customer entered the premises and this would facilitate the Ministry’s personnel or staff members of the outlet to conduct checks, if necessary.
On Sunday, Nanta announced that customers are only allowed to spend a maximum of two hours in retail premises, including shopping malls, in addition to limiting the number of customers inside premises at one time.
