The Ministry of Youth, Sports and E-Governance, through its Department of Youth Services, has amalgamated youth services providers under one umbrella program called the National Belize Training Institute. The Gateway Youth Center, The Belize Youth Cadet Corp, the Frank Lizama Training Center and the National Four-H Agriculture Development Center have all been streamlined under the institute where the competence-based education training module will be used and serve as a pre-requisite into ITVET. On Friday, the training institute hosted a two day sensitization session. Here’s more from Minister of Youth Kevin Bernard.

Coast Guard Hosts Young Sea Cadets to Christmas Lunch
This afternoon at the Gateway Youth Center, the Belize Coast Guard hosted a handful of children who are part of its Sea Cadet Program to lunch. It is part of the Christmas cheer being spread by the organization, particularly since COVID-19 has disrupted other activities that would have been held at part of its ongoing outreach. We caught up with Acting Commandant Greg Soberanis who says it’s all about spreading the joy of the season.
