IN PHOTOS: Progress continues on Lincoln Building at Gateway

Apr 30, 2021 The Lincoln Building, which will soon house Gateway Technical College s expanded nursing program, is showing near completion of its reconstruction as of Thursday.  The expansion, officially announced in December, will enlarge the Lincoln Building by 2,700 square feet, spread out over three floors. Dating to 1963, the Lincoln Building was one of the two buildings that made up the original campus, then called the University of Wisconsin two-year center, according to previous Journal Times reporting. Gateway took over the campus in the 1970s. Lincoln building An artist s rendering of the proposed expansion of the Lincoln Building on the Racine Campus of Gateway Technical College.

RACINE COUNTY — More than a dozen community members sounded off on the issues they’re advocating for as seen in Wisconsin’s executive budget during a virtual listening session held by State Representatives Greta Neubauer, D-Racine, and Rep. Tip McGuire, D-Kenosha last Wednesday. Here are a few things community members and local politicians talked about. Neubauer Collective bargaining Ann Stotts and Jay Johnson, both instructors at Gateway Technical College, expressed their support in Evers’ recommendation of expanding collective bargaining rights for front-line workers, which are detailed on Page 215. Stotts, who is a member of a teachers’ union, said she has been struggling with the recertification process to keep her collective bargaining rights.
