To celebrate the reopening and refurbishment of Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library, LA County Library and Supervisor Janice Hahn will host an Open House on July 21 from 11 am to 1 pm.
The Open House will feature an outdoor activity for children and teens, a walkthrough of the library’s newly refurbished space, and special messages from Supervisor Janice Hahn, LA County Library Director Skye Patrick, and the local community.
Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library’s refurbishment was made possible by the generous support of Supervisor Hahn’s 4th Supervisorial District Capital Fund. The $1 million plus refurbishment project started on November 1, 2019 and was completed on November 1, 2020. Free outdoor Wi-Fi service is available in the parking lots of 32 Los Angeles County libraries through funding from the Coronavirus Relief Fund Spending Plan, officials announced today.
The Park & Connect program allows anyone to access Wi-Fi by parking in a designated spot and using their device in their vehicle, Los Angeles County Library officials said. Those without vehicles may sit within 25 feet of the library but are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
Once within range, Wi-Fi can be accessed by clicking the network “CountyLibraryWiFi,” accepting the terms of agreement, then closing and reopening a browser.
