The new and expanded section of the Subic Freeport Expressway will remain open to motorists from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. until its full completion next month.
“This is to provide continued convenience to motorists already using the new expressway, and for those who will be traveling to and from the Subic area,” the NLEX Corp. said in a statement.
Last December, the new SFEX carriageway was temporarily opened for the holidays until Jan. 15 to give way to the construction of the remaining works.
However, assessments and recent developments showed that the new road can stay open during these hours while there are still works being done in some areas, including the portion of Jadjad Bridge, according to the company.

Sibut Bridge along San Jose–Rizal Road in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija is now open to general traffic, Villar said.
“Now that the Sibut Bridge is open to all types of vehicles, it should help spur the local economy and provide ease of travel between San Jose City and the town of Rizal here in Nueva Ecija.”
It was built under a P240-million fund. It became fully accessible on January 7.
“Good news is that through this bridge, travel time is now cut to only 30 minutes,” Villar said.
He added that prior to completion of the bridge, residents and other motorists have to go through an hour and 15 minutes of travel from San Jose City to the town of Rizal.

The newly-completed road project is the 1.38-kilometer access road within the Malolos-Barili-Kantabugon Road in the coastal area of Aloguinsan.
It leads to Hermits Cove, Bojo River, and Lunhaw Farm Resort, some of the top tourist sites in the province.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said the completed tourism road project is in convergence with the Department of Tourism.
“With the completion of this access road, the 40 minutes travel time from the national road to Hermits Cove has been reduced to only 15 minutes,” Villar said.
“This will not only serve tourists who want to explore Central Cebu, but also directly benefit locals with improved mobility and investment potential of their area,” the DPWH Secretary added.
