GRANTS PASS, Ore. The sizable police presence on Rogue River Highway in Grants Pass on Tuesday evening arose from the attempt to apprehend two fugitives out of Washington state who barricaded themselves inside a home with a young child, according to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
Police in Grants Pass were contacted on Tuesday afternoon by agents from the U.S. Marshals Service and Homeland Security Investigations, who were seeking two fugitives believed to be heading from Washington state to Grants Pass.
Chesapeake Police say 27-year-old Dequawn Acree was wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. A police standoff in Chesapeake has ended peacefully, with a wanted man in custody.
Chesapeake Police say the standoff began started when officers responded to a call about a domestic complaint in the 800 block of Laurel Avenue just before 3 p.m. Friday. When officers got there, they learned a man inside the home had an outstanding warrant.
27-year-old Dequawn Acree was wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon.
