Posted4/13/2021 5:15 AM A free summer school course, extra teaching specialists, academic boot camps and tutoring services are among the strategies being explored by Naperville Unit District 203 in an attempt to bridge learning gaps caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Students at all grade levels transitioned to an expanded in-person schedule last week after spending months in an enhanced e-learning or hybrid stage of the district s Return to Learn plan.   The reduction of face-to-face instruction during the last year has impacted each student differently, Superintendent Dan Bridges said, prompting administrators to conduct assessments and develop a response for addressing their academic and social-emotional needs throughout the summer and into next academic year.

Free webinar offered for parents of teens struggling with remote learning   Updated 4/7/2021 4:02 PM Krista Sherinian of Dunham Counseling in Naperville will present a free program for parents of teens on Ways to Improve Learning Remotely. The program will address helping students to improve executive function and students mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic.   The program will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, via Zoom. Sherinian will offer tips on better establishing routines, uses of consequences and rewards and ways to improve students physical and emotional health considering the stressors of the pandemic. The program will include a 45-minute talk by Sherinian followed by an open question-and-answer period.
