An evacuation order for a Latrobe Valley town inundated by floodwater has now been lifted, but more than 110,000 homes across Victoria are still without power as the clean-up from wild weather on Thursday continues.
Major flood warnings from VicEmergency are still current for the Yarra River from Millgrove to Coldstream and for the Thomson River from the Cowwarr Weir to Wandocka in the state’s east.

Schools are set to re-open in metropolitan Melbourne on Friday following the easing of coronavirus restrictions. However, several primary and secondary schools, as well as kindergartens in towns such as Frankston, Healesville, Kyneton and Trentham, have been closed due to the severe weather, according to the Department of Education.

Strong as a Behr website
There is a fundraising website “Strong as a Behr” benefiting the family of Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife officer Kevin Behr who was shot and wounded Dec. 20 on the job in Clinton County.
The website was updated on Jan. 14 and indicates Behr was still hospitalized on that date but making progress.
The website states, “Our thoughts are with him, his wife Kathy, and their three children. We are hopeful for a swift and complete recovery. The road will be long though. Ohio Wildlife Lodge 143 has organized a fundraiser for Kevin and his family to assist them during the challenging times ahead. Please help us reach and exceed our goal.”

Rittal Systems Ltd., Canada recently announced that Tim Rourke will be resigning as president, and Andre Bousette will be stepping into this role, taking leadership of Rittal’s Canadian operations based in Mississauga ON.
Rourke completed 25 years of service to Rittal Systems Ltd. in 2020. In 1995, Tim joined Rittal as an outside sales representative in Eastern and Northern Ontario. In 1997, he was promoted to regional sales manager for Ontario. Regarded for his “clear vision of success combined with his acute sense of customer service” catapulted Rittal’s sales, brand awareness and customer loyalty in Canada, according to a company media release. Rourke then moved on to regional sales manager for Western Canada. In 2002, he moved into a business development role, helping Rittal grow through a targeted approach to m
