ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ/AP) Maryland begins its $40,000 daily lottery drawings for people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 Tuesday.
“Get your shot for a shot to win,” Hogan said, during a press conference last week.
The drawing Tuesday is the first of 40 consecutive days of drawings for a $40,000 prize. On July 4, a final drawing will be made for a grand prize of $400,000.
The $2 million prize pool is to encourage people to get vaccinated.
Tomorrow is the first drawing of our $2 million VaxCash Promotion. All you have to do is be 18+, a Maryland resident, and have been vaccinated in Maryland.
Due to a bureaucratic lapse, as well as legal and technical challenges, thousands of shots from the Defense Department and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs have not been counted in state vaccination statistics.
