Former Heads of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Olusegun Obasanjo held separate meetings with stakeholders last week where they dispassionately dissected the worsening insecurity in Nigeria and generated far-reaching recommendations. General Abubakar, who is the Chairman of the National Peace Committee (NPC), chaired a meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2021, which brought together stakeholders, like former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Saad 111, Bishop Matthew Kukah, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Metropolitan Archbishop Emeritus, Abuja Catholic Diocese, John Cardinal Onaiyekan; Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), Kayode Fayemi; Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Simon Lalong; Chairman of Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Malam Kabiru Yusuf, religious leaders, the service chiefs and several other dignitaries.

Former Minister of State for Education, Chief Kenneth Gbagi has described the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan as the best ever in Nigeria history.
Gbagi who is vying for the Governorship of Delta State in 2023, insisted that he is the most qualified individual to take over leadership of the State from incumbent Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Saying that he had rejected ministerial appointment on three different occasions, he said he established 13 universities, over seven Colleges of Education and various model and Almajiri Schools in the country to enable Nigerians to have more access to education as a Minister of State for Education under formal President Goodluck Jonathan.
As part of activities marking the 69th birthday of the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, gift items were donated to orphanage homes in Lagos and Ogun States.
The gifts include food items that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Foundation, a nongovernmental organization, saddled with the responsibility of breaking the shackles of poverty by supporting the less privilege in the society, distributed to orphanage homes.
Cartons of noodles, bags of rice and several cartons of processed food items and toiletries were given to the children in the orphanage homes visited by the foundation
The donations, which was facilitated by the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, was handed out by the BAT Director-General, Hon. Ahmed Omisore in the company of the Foundation’s Director of Media, Barrister Mobolaji Sanusi and other members of the Foundation.
