The veteran journalist and broadcast media administrator passed away on Friday.
Born on July 13, 1949, Egbuna was the golden voice of FRCN network news in the 80s and 90s.
The former News Director at the Voice of Nigeria (VON) was in the broadcast industry for more than 40 years.
He was the Publisher/Editor in Chief, Digicast Magazine and Chief Executive Officer, Niche Media.
Egbuna served as President, African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) and was Fellow of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE), a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), among others.

NUJ suspends journalist accused of rape
The NUJ says it suspended Mr Uche for allegedly raping his neighbour s four-year old daughter

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Yobe State has suspended Uche Friday Uche of the People’s Daily newspaper accused of raping a four-year old girl.
The police took Mr Uche into custody last Friday after his neighbour, a soldier, alleged that he raped his infant daughter.
Addressing an emergency meeting of the union in Damaturu on Saturday, the Yobe State chairperson of the NUJ, Rajab Mohammed, said Mr Uche is suspended from the union until he is cleared by the courts of the allegation.

As a retired security officer, you come out in the media to comment on national issues and even taking hard positions. What informed this?

The President of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Sunday Asefon, has described the 2021 budgetary allocation for the education sector by the President Muhammadu Buhari government as the worst in the last decade.Disturbed by the neglect of the education sector, which was allocated 5.6 percent in the 2021 budget, and the high level of insecurity in the country, NANS said it planned to organise a security and education summit to partner stakeholders on how to arrest the drift in the two critical sectors.
