The Nigeria Union of Teachers and the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools have called on the government to create more enlightenment on coronavirus disease.
The Secretary-General of NUT, Dr Mike Ike-Ene and the National President, NAPPS, Mr Yomi Odubela who spoke with our correspondent in a separate interview maintained that the level of awareness on the virus was low.
They, thereby, charged the federal and state governments to make deliberate efforts in providing all the necessities that would curb the spread of COVID-19.
Ike-Ene said, “The government should provide the needful and educate the populace; it doesn’t make sense educating students and pupils alone, we call for the enlightenment of all ranks and file. Through consistent sensitisation, people will begin to internalise the message that the use of nose masks will be a part of our lives until further notice.
