The orgy of robbery and sundry crimes in Benin City, Edo State capital, continued with impunity on Sunday as a female journalist, Flora Bossey, was attacked and robbed by some gunmen, while she went for an Automated Machine Stand ATM, transaction.
The journalist who was at one of the ATMs located at the beginning of Airport Road in the King’s Square in Benin City was robbed as she soon as finished withdrawing some cash.
The suspected gunmen numbering two had waited for her to finish the cash withdrawal and immediately swooped on her at gunpoint.
The gunmen collected her two ATM Cards, mobile phones with Glo and MTN lines as well as other personal items.

The Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Council Area of Delta State, HRM Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, Udurhie I, yesterday, cautioned the Federal Government against the appointment of a Sole Administrator for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
He said the NDDC Act of 2000 did not make provision for such position, adding that any attempt by the Federal Government to impose a sole administrator on the commission would not only be resisted, but would spark fresh crisis in the region.
He stated this when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, visited him in his palace.

It was a day of accolades as Idumuje-Unor community in Aniocha North local government area of Delta State, honoured one of her most outstanding sons, Justice Samuel Chukwudumebi Oseji over his elevation as Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Okowa while congratulating Oseji, affirmed it was not easy to go through the ranks of High Court, Appeal Court and Supreme Court, and said he had made Delta proud.

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Southeast, Nigeria, is to partner with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), in retraining its members in the state.
Acting Vice Chancellor of the Enugu state owned institution Professor Charles Eze, stated this yesterday when the leadership of the state council of the union called on him and management of a courtesy visit.
The ESUT, boss, said that the institution had a flourishing Mass Communication Department that could assist in improving the capacity of journalists in the state.
He, therefore, asked, the leadership of the union in the state to work out the modalities for such collaboration.
