Such was the star power that Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett carried throughout their careers and still possess, all of them now five years removed from their final games as NBA greats. Each was an NBA champion, an MVP, an Olympic gold medalist, annual locks for All-Star and All-Defensive teams.

The Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion award was unveiled by the league on Thursday.
The award honors an NBA player for “pursuing social justice and upholding the league’s decades-long values of equality, respect and inclusion.”
Abdul-Jabbar, a six-time league MVP and NBA champion, long has promoted social justice, particularly in his post-playing career.
“In addition to being one of our greatest players, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has devoted much of his life to advocating for equality and social justice,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a news release. “With this new award, we are proud to recognize and celebrate NBA players who are using their influence to make an impact on their communities and our broader society.”

This weekend Kobe Bryant will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. We are hearing that Vanessa Bryant will be there and Michael will also be speaking at the ceremony.
Well recently Michael opened up about his last conversation with Kobe, it was in December 2019, at first they went back and forth about Michael s tequila brand. Kobe told him he liked his tequila.

NBA creates annual Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion award
The newly created Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion award recognizes NBA players social justice efforts. The award winner will receive $100,000 to donate to an organization of their choice. Other four finalists and select beneficiaries to receive $25,000 each.
