The long road to Notre Dame de Parisâ restoration is stretching into 2021. It hasnât been quite two years since the April 2019 fire that devastated the famed Catholic landmark, and a lot has been done. Much of the toxic lead has been cleaned up and the organ was removed to be cleaned.Now, the arduous task of rebuilding the iconic wooden spire is on deck, and in order to do it France will tap its forests.
In 2019 there was some discussion of reconstructing the spire with modern architectural elements. President Macron, however, ultimately decided that it was to be restored to its original state. (UDN Fun Life photo) TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The classic French musical Notre Dame de Paris will be staged in two cities at once in Taiwan for the first time. Based on Victor Hugo s novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Notre Dame de Paris the musical made its debut in France, in 1998. Since then it has been performed in 17 countries and translated into eight languages. UDN Fun Life, the organizer behind the musical, said the production team chose Taiwan as the first stop on its 20th-anniversary world tour, in 2018. More than 10 million tickets sold out on the first day of that tour, UDN reported.
