MARQUETTE, MI – Knut Gerhard Fjeldheim, born December 26, 1923, passed away in his home, Thursday morning, February 11, 2021.
He was born in Haugesund, Norway. Knut was married to his beloved Kristine (Vigsnes) Fjeldheim for 70 years. Knut grew up on a small island across the canal from the mainland, Risoy, where he enjoyed fishing in the ocean for a variety of fish, crab, lobster, and shrimp. Many of his childhood days were spent with his grandfather on the Fjeldheim Farm in the countryside just outside of Haugesund, and he often rode his bicycle 20 miles inland to visit aunts, uncles, and cousins in the countryside. He attended grammar school and high school in Haugesund. As a young man Knut got his master-builder papers and license. After this he studied structural engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. He built a prosperous company in Haugesund. Do you think the referee always has it in for your team? What about a sneaking suspicion that aliens have already visited Earth? Everyone believes at least one conspiracy theory, says sociologist Asbjørn Dyrendal from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
These examples activate the same mechanisms that come into play when our thoughts build on themselves and turn into more entrenched conspiracy beliefs.
In fact, the researchers of the new study - which looked at predictors of conspiracy theory belief - conclude that in small doses, such thinking is normal for all of us.
Hidden or sacrificed?
Archaeologists call this kind of find a hoard, when they uncover objects that have been hidden away or buried in the ground.
