NEW YORK (1010 WINS) A Long Island CVS employee was arrested after police found 62 COVID-19 vaccination cards inside his car, authorities said Thursday.
A Nassau County Police Department team carrying out an investigation spotted Zachary Honig, 21, of Levittown inside a Mazda in Westbury around 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Commissioner Patrick Ryder said at a news briefing on Thursday.
When the team searched Honig’s car, they discovered a pair of brass knuckles and 62 vaccination cards inside, Ryder said.
Eight of the cards already had batch and store numbers written on them, Ryder said. The other 54 cards were blank, he said.

Photo by: Nassau County Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced an upcoming Student Vaccination Initiative in partnership with Northwell Health a four-day High School vaccination event in the Nassau Community College gym from May 13 to 16. The initiative will be geared towards students aged 16 to 18 and will aim to vaccinate 500 teens a day. As part of the Student Vaccination Initiative, school districts will assign student vaccine ambassadors who will receive a training from the Nassau County Dept. of Health, and encourage their peers to roll up their sleeve. Students who are vaccinated as part of the initiative will receive 6 hours of community service credit. The Pfizer vaccine, which is currently authorized for those 16+ up will be used.
