Walmart in Nassau Park Closed, Now What?
I never thought I d see the day when the Walmart in Nassau Park (West Windsor), would go out of business. I was shocked, actually. You can anything at Walmart, cheap.
Nonetheless, it closed its doors for if good last summer. I didn t go often, but when I needed to, it was very convenient.
Now, the huge retail store sits empty, like so many others in the area. sigh. I went to browse in HomeGoods (one of my favorite stores ever) recently, glanced over at the former Walmart, across the parking lot, and
wondered what we ll see next in that space.

It s scheduled to close its doors for good on Tuesday, January 19th, the day after the Semi-Annual Clearance Sale wraps up (it s going on now).
A Yankee Candle employee told me that the West Windsor location isn t the only location closing. Old Bridge and Sicklerville, and a few others, are also facing the same fate. The West Windsor location closure was partially because of the store s leasing agreement with the shopping center (the center requires a multi-year lease). They say it s considered an under-performing store. Not surprising, I guess.
Bed Bath & Beyond at the Mercer Mall to close permanently in February

Bed Bath & Beyond, the national housewares chain that has had a presence at the Mercer Mall in Lawrence for more than three decades, is closing for good on Feb. 13.
Earlier this year, the Union, N.J.-based retailer announced that it was closing 63 stores across the country by the end of 2020. The Lawrence location was not on that list.
Bed Bath & Beyond also owns buybuBaby, Cost Plus World Market, Harmon Face Values, and Christmas Tree Shops.
In July, the company announced plans to permanently close about 200 of its stores over the next two years to “right-size” its real estate portfolio as consumer shopping habits continue to change. The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the plight of national chains, with many filing for bankruptcy, closing some stores, or going out of business altogether.
