Bakhtar Airlines Hires 3 New Afghan Pilots

Bakhtar Airlines on Thursday said that the company has hired three newly graduated Afghan pilots. The three pilots graduated from UAE, Jordan and Norway aviation academies. The pilots have conducted 25 flights in the past seven months. They will now be undertaking four flights daily in the country. The pilots are named Reshad Habib, Omar Noorzada and Ehsanullah Zazai. “Now I serve as an officer for Bakhtar airlines; we are now in our training phase and I accompany the captains who have lots of experience. Currently we are conducting flights domestically,” said Reshad Habib, a pilot. “The passengers and any other people should be confident that the Taliban has nothing to do with us, because we are civilians and we do not need to fear,” said Ehsanullah Zazai, a pilot.

Three security force members killed in Pashdan Dam attack

(Last Updated On: March 16, 2021) Sayed Wahid Qatali, governor of Herat province confirmed the attack on security forces in the early hours of Tuesday morning close to the Pashdan Dam, and said an operation was underway to clear the area of insurgents. Three security forces members at an outpost in the vicinity of the dam were killed and four others were wounded “when armed opponents attacked the dam” said Nazam Khapalwak, spokesman for the National Water Affairs Regulation Authority. Khapalwak also said that four security force members had disappeared. According to him the attack was launched at about 4am local time.

Ariana Afghan Airlines loses $1m after Boeing impounded in Russia

(Last Updated On: March 11, 2021) Ariana Afghan Airlines officials claim they have lost about $1 million in 24 days after one of its aircraft was seized by Russian officials for reportedly violating international aviation regulations. According to airline officials the Boeing 737 was impounded by Russian customs officials after allegedly taking off from an airport before clearance was given. They said the matter has now been handed over to a Russian court. The officials stated that they have requested help from various government departments to secure the return of their aircraft but nothing has yet been done. They said they have called on the Foreign Ministry for help and the Finance Ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority.
