Tanvir Islam claimed 13 wickets in the match with his wily left-arm spin as Bangladesh Emerging Team romped to an innings and 23-run victory over visiting Ireland Wolves in the solitary four-day game of the series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.
Tanvir followed his 5-55, with 8-51 in the second innings, which helped the side skittle Wolves out for just 139 in the second innings and thereby ensured Bangladesh’s victory in just two and half days.
Ebadot Hossain and Saif Hassan bagged the rest of the two wickets to play a perfect foil to Tanvir. Wolves’ fate was sealed on day two when they ended the day with 35-4. But two overnight unbeaten batsmen captain Harry Tector and Curtis Campher showed a steely resolve after resuming the day three and at one phase, it seemed they would at least help the side avoid the innings defeat.

Bangladesh Emerging team’s left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam on Monday admitted that his focus on varying the line and length proved worthy for him against Ireland Wolves in the lone four-day match.
“I was focused on varying the line and length and it proved to be beneficial for me,” Tanvir told The Daily Sun.
“There was grass in the wicket and our head coach Champaka Ramanayake asked me to bowl in the right line and length and just focus on varying my pace as he felt as they would lose their patience and give me wickets and that is what had happened,” he added.

At the end of day two in Chattogram, Ireland Wolves trail Bangladesh Emerging by another 127 runs with six wickets in hand in the only four-dayer.
