YOUNGSTERS whizzing around on e-scooters will help revive Basildon’s town centre, business bosses believe. The Basildon Business Group has urged the younger generations to use the scooters to get in and out of Basildon’s town centre, instead of using cars. With non-essential retail open once again, leaders have pleaded with shoppers to not clog up car parks with vehicles. Spin’s e-scooters are available to use across Basildon as part of a trial with Essex County Council. Since the launch in December, Spin has seen 43,000 rides recorded on their app across the borough. David Barnes, chair of the Basildon Business Group, said: “The scooters provide a quick and easy access in and out of the town centre.
