GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An elementary school teacher accused of sexually assaulting female students was ordered Thursday to stand trial.
David Villareal waived a preliminary hearing on three counts for incidents in 2015 and 2016 at Baird Elementary School. An arraignment is scheduled for May 27.
According to the criminal complaint, three former students allege Villareal inappropriately touched them during class between 2015 and 2017. Villareal denied the allegations when he was interviewed by police.
The Green Bay Area Public School District investigating the incident, and reported the details to child protective services. Villareal was placed on administrative leave when the charges were filed earlier this month.

Grocery aid confusion: Families who qualify told theyâd get $0
MILWAUKEE - It’s a problem that could keep a parent awake at night how to feed their child when schools aren’t open to provide free meals?
Grocery benefits are now available in Wisconsin through a program called Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT). Families are eligible for up to $6.82 per day per child for meals typically provided by schools, but were not, during virtual learning.
Creating confusion is that many families who qualify for P-EBT got a letter from the State of Wisconsin telling them they’d get zero dollars in benefits.

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) “One outcome of the pandemic is education is changed.. probably forever,” said Nancy Chartier reflecting on a year of learning during a pandemic.
Chartier is the executive director of teaching and learning at Green Bay Area Public School District.
She says the district is starting up an online school for elementary schoolers next Fall.
It’s in response to parents wanting to stick with virtual learning.
“We are preparing for approximately 500 students based on the number of students that have requested to remain online,” said Chariter.
But education is more than books.
