Decline in new infections - Newspaper

LAHORE: The number of Covid patients in Punjab’s public and private sector health facilities continued to drop amid reports of decline in new infections and death rate. Particularly, the hospitals in the provincial capital witnessed a sharp decline, according to the new statistics officially released by the Punjab health authorities. The data showed that the bed occupancy rate in high dependency units of the public and private hospitals in Lahore has dropped to 31.6 per cent while in intensive care units 69.8 per cent. Meanwhile, the Punjab government data showed that 63 more patients died of virus in Punjab during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 9,188.

Dr Yasmin Rashid visits Mayo Hospital corona monitoring unit National May 13, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid visited Mayo Hospital Corona Monitoring Unit on Wednesday to monitor performance of the unit. Present on the occasion were Consultant Professor Dr Asad Aslam Khan, Professor Dr Saqib Saeed, Medical Superintendent Dr Iftikhar and other officials. Professor Asad Aslam Khan and Dr Iftikhar gave briefing to the minister about reserved beds, ventilators and Oxygen availability. Later, the minister visited Vaccination Centre at Sabzazar along with Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SH) Department Sarah Aslam and Commissioner Captain (r) Usman Younis. The minister said that the government was monitoring corona situation closely and continuously increasing the number of vaccination centres. In Punjab, 236 centres and in Lahore seven centres were functional, she mentioned.

All institutions united in battle against corona: Dr Yasmin Rashid

National May 11, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid monitored vaccination process at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh in her visit here on Monday. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam, Commissioner Lahore Division Captain (r) Usman Younis SP Headquarters Imran Malik and other officials were present on the occasion. Dr Yasmin Rashid took a round of the vaccination centre at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam and Commissioner Lahore Captain (r) Usman Younis gave detailed briefing to the health minister about the arrangements at the centre. The health minister interacted with the staff at counters and monitored the vaccination process.
