Prevention and control of dengue: Adequate stock of medicines available in hospitals, says Yasmin

Lahore April 23, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid chaired cabinet meeting on dengue prevention at Darbar Hall of Civil Secretariat here on Thursday. The health minister reviewed the arrangements for dengue control. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department apprised the minister of measures taken for the prevention and control of dengue. The minister said, “Surveillance testing has been enhanced in Punjab for suspected patients. Commissioners and deputy commissioners must personally monitor the dashboard. Adequate stock of medicines is available for patients in hospitals. Dengue larva must be eliminated after identification of hotspots. SOPs must be implemented on recommendations of DEAG. I appeal people to keep their homes clean. Rains can cause increase in the number of dengue cases. Helpline is continuously providing guidance to people. Home vaccination for over 60-year special persons: minister

Lahore April 23, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that the special citizens of 60 years or above will be given home services for corona vaccination. In a statement issued here Thursday, she said that elderly citizens or disabled or people who are unable to move, can get information from 1033 for home services. She said that a doctor and a vaccinator had been deputed in one ambulance for home vaccination services. The minister said that Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department had been asked to make necessary arrangements for the purpose. She said that the disabled or those unable to move citizens in the over 65 age group category were already being provided these services in Punjab.She said that around 27,000 elderly people were being vaccinated on daily basis on an average.

Vaccination of people of 50-59 years age starts today

National April 21, 2021 LAHORE: The Punjab government is all set to start the next round of coronavirus vaccination for people of 50-59 years of age group from Wednesday. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid asked the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) to make arrangements to make the next round of the vaccination successful. She urged citizens to get themselves registered at 1166 and secure their pin code for vaccination. People of 50 to 59 years of age may now visit the vaccination centers with valid pin code and message, she added.
