Punjab to reopen schools in some districts from May 24: Murad Raas

Private and public schools in certain districts of Punjab will reopen from Monday, May 24.
Public and private schools in Punjab s select districts will operate only four days a week, while schools will be allowed to call students on alternate days with 50% attendance, the notification said.
A decision related to the opening of schools in the remaining districts will be taken in the next meeting, the notification said.

The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday allowed the reopening of schools in districts where the COVID-19 positivity ratio is less than 5%.

LAHORE: The government of Punjab on Thursday announced it would update masses about the reopening of both public and private schools in the province.
According to a tweet by Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas, the announcement about schools reopening in the province would be made within the next 24 hours.

The tweet comes a day after the NCOC decided to reopen schools and universities in districts with less than a 5% coronavirus positivity rate.

Physical classes for grades nine to 12 resumed at schools and colleges across Pakistan today (April 19).
Attendance at educational institutions on Monday was, however, low after clerics announced a countrywide strike.
In Punjab, schools reopened in over 13 districts, including Lahore and Multan. Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas tweeted on Sunday that 50% of students will be called in on Mondays and 50% on Thursdays.
Schools and colleges have been advised to ensure strict SOP implementation.
