Blood donor camps for kids

LAHORE: Punjab University Department of Social Work has organized two blood donation camps in collaboration with Sundus Foundation for the children battling Thalassemia and Hemophilia. PU’s Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar inaugurated a blood donation camp at the department. DSW Chairperson Prof Dr Syed Mehnaz Hassan, Registrar Dr Khalid Khan, faculty members and a large number of students participated in the event.

LAHORE: Punjab University Department of Social Work, in collaboration with Sundas Foundation, will organise an event with children suffering from Thalassaemia on Tuesday (today) at 6pm at PU executive club. Provincial Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad Akther and others will participate in the event.

Speaking at the first international conference on social work âContemporary Social Work Education & Practices: Challenges & Prospectsâ organised by Punjab University Department of Social Work here Tuesday, Dr Firdous Ashiq stressed the need to engage educated women in Pakistanâs economic development through their empowerment, arguing that half of the educated persons were sitting at home and no state could afford wastage of such a great human resource.
