The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, has announced details of Cruinniú na nÓg 2021, a day of free creative activity for children and young people under the age of 18.
Cruinniú na nÓg 2021 is a collaboration between the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, the Creative Ireland Programme, local authorities and RTÉ and is the only event of its kind in the world.
In light of the public health restrictions that are currently in force, the Creative Ireland Programme and its partners have developed a number of creative, cultural and engaging “calls to action” which children, young people and their families can create in their own homes and gardens on Saturday 12th June.

A ground-breaking new Climate Action Walk for Abbeyleix will be launched online on Saturday 15th May.
The walk is an end of residency project by science communicator in residence for the Abbeyleix Climate Action Project, Dr Niamh Shaw, working with members of Abbeyleix Tidy Towns.
In response to her six month residency working with Abbeyleix Tidy Towns to engage the community on climate action, Niamh created an interactive walking tour through the town of Abbeyleix to engage the general public about climate change, focusing on the cyclical nature of our planet, how climate change has impacted our lives, how it affects us emotionally and what we can do o

The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media, Catherine Martin TD today (Tuesday, 11th May 2021) announced details of the Creative Youth conference 2021, titled Creativity â the connection to the future, now.
Presented by the Creative Ireland Programme, the conference will reflect on the achievements of Creative Youth and the challenges that lie ahead as we consider what strategies will be required to deliver positive, sustainable outcomes for children through their engagement with arts, culture and creativity.

Junk Kouture is back and with a brand-new face on the star-studded judging panel as best-selling cookbook author, podcaster, entrepreneur and fashion-upcycling enthusiast Roz Purcell joins the ranks of Ireland’s leading creativity and sustainability programme for young people for 2021.
No stranger to the catwalk in her own right, this won’t be Roz’s first sashay onto the Junk Kouture stage as in 2013 she walked the red carpet for The Royal Film Performance™ of Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom in London, wearing a Junk Kouture design made of paper and polystyrene cups.
Cruinniú nÓg events this year will take place both online and on location.
Cruinniú na nÓg, an annual day of free creative activity for children and teenagers, will take place on 12 June.
Having run for the past three years, last year’s events took place online.
In line with current public health guidelines, events this year will take place both online and on location.
Events will be held across the country.
They include; the Circus Factory in Carraigaline, Co Cork, where you can learn juggling and hula-hooping skills; a live interactive workshop on upcycled clothes in Co Louth and Dublin Zoo are inviting young people to explore the world of animals without backbones.
