BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - A man was found guilty of molesting two young sisters last year when they were 10-years-old and 7-years-old, Butte County District Attorney’s office said.
40-year-old Joshua Chadwick of Oroville was convicted of six separate counts of lewd and lascivious conduct involving the two girls.
Just in this morning, Chico Police officers announced an arrest has been made in a weekend stabbing incident at the Lindo Channel. Police said the victim of the stabbing is expected to survive after he was sent to the hospital under critical condition. The stabbing happened by the Lindo channel, behind the Raley’s on East Ave.
Siskiyou County deputies are searching for more information after they discovered the body of a woman missing out of Oakland. The Siskiyou County Sheriff s Office said the body of Tatiana Dugger was found by a hiker near the city of Weed. The Butte County Sheriff s Office was leading the search after her disappearance in January. Investigators said the body looked like it had been in the area for some time.

Oroville man sentenced to life for 2018 Berry Creek murder
An Oroville man convicted of a Berry Creek murder by a jury in December 2020 was sentenced this past Friday to a 20-year to life term in state prison, according to the Butte County District Attorney, Mike Ramsey.

OROVILLE, Calif. – An Oroville man convicted of a Berry Creek murder by a jury in December 2020 was sentenced this past Friday to a 20-year to life term in state prison, according to the Butte County District Attorney, Mike Ramsey.
41-year-old Jasson Michael Stepp, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Michael Deems for the murder of 68-year-old William Chrisman, of Berry Creek.
The Butte County District Attorney’s Office said it is waiting on autopsy results in an apparent homicide case that happened over the weekend in a holding cell at the Butte County Jail.
