A man wanted in a February shooting in Opelousas is now in jail after police say he was involved in a multi-parish car chase.
Markentae Williams is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint on Patsy Street on February 23. Police say Williams, Deandra Weston, and Allie Roy stole a gun and cash from the victim before shooting him.

An Opelousas woman is the second person facing charges in connection with two shootings in the city.
According to the Opelousas Police Department, Allie Roy is facing eight counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of drive-by shooting, and one count of armed robbery.
Roy is facing those charges in connection with a February 9 shooting on Pulford Street and a February 23 shooting on Patsy Street. In the Pulford Street shooting, someone fired multiple shots at a home occupied by seven people, including children. In the Patsy shooting, a man was robbed at gunpoint and shot in the back.

One person has been arrested after Opelousas Police responded to two shooting incidents in the city Monday night.
According to police, officers responded to a shots fired call at 6 p.m. in the area of W. Grolee Street and Sapphire Street. At least one person and at least one residence in the area were struck by gunfire. The victim received a gunshot wound to the lower leg, was treated at a local hospital, and released shortly after.
Details surrounding the shooting are limited at this time. Police say the victim tried to leave the area in a vehicle, but crashed the vehicle into a tree as the vehicle was being fired upon. The vehicle was also struck by gunfire, along with a home in the area that police say was occupied at the time of the shooting.
