Boolarra, Budgeree and Yinnar South community bands together in clean-up effort

By Michelle Slater Farmers and heavy machinery operators banded together to clear roads in the ranges after residents were stuck on their properties without power, phones or access for days. Boolarra, Budgeree and Yinnar South resembled a war zone, with roads blocked by thousands of fallen trees which had taken out power lines, some houses, shedding and major infrastructure. Yinnar South locals Ben Dawson and Marc McKinlay were just some of the community members who began clearing roads the morning after the storms ripped through. “It was like a jet engine blowing in my face, there were trees breaking all around me,” Mr Dawson said.

Twist in hunt for killer who stabbed a man to death on a Toongabbie, Sydney footpath

NSW Police have found new evidence in their hunt for the killer of a man found with multiple stab wounds on a Sydney footpath. Emergency services were called to Budgeree Road in Toongabbie, in Sydney s west, about 10.30pm on November 15 last year, where they found the man. Detectives release CCTV of vehicle seen before Toongabbie fatal stabbing

PLEASE NOTE: Vision is on the NSWPF social media pages Homicide Squad detectives have released CCTV vision of a vehicle of interest and are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate the suspicious death of a man in Sydney’s north-west last year. Just before 10.30pm on Sunday 15 November 2020, emergency services were called to Budgeree Road, Toongabbie, and found a man on the footpath suffering multiple stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services and members of the public, the man died at the scene. He has since been formally identified as 49-year-old Warwick Hunter. Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident, before detectives from the Homicide Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Burranjurra.
