New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly defended farm laws and accused the Congress of misleading the farmers and called it a divided party which cannot think about the well-being of farmers. Replying to the motion of thanks on president s address, the PM said that purchase on MSP increased after the laws were formed, the PM said the opposition must talk about the content and intent of the farm laws.
This House, our Government and we all respect the farmers who are voicing their views on the farm bills. This is the reason why senior Ministers of the Government are constantly talking to them, he added.
SAD's Harsimrat Kaur Badal also accused the govt of committing atrocities on protesting farmers and criticised it for linking the peasants' movement with terrorists & Khalistanis.
