Government Oversight of Covid Air Cleaners Leaves Gaping Holes

Jul 13, 2021 Stephen Matthew Shumaker counted on in-home, in-person demonstrations to drive his water filtration business, which serves the Atlanta area. So when covid-19 hit and no one was inviting people indoors, he turned to the air-cleaning part of his operation. He sent cards in the mail advertising air purifiers using ActivePure technology to new homeowners: “KILL COVID-19, CORONAVIRUS IN YOUR HOME!!” One card landed on the desk of a postal inspector, who called it false and misleading in a court record. Shumaker then told an undercover agent on the phone on April 24, 2020, that the air purifier “kills the Coronavirus Virus on the spot,” according to a criminal complaint.

Water in Mayville is safe to drink again

The county lifted the Do Not Drink advisory on December 24. Author: Emyle Watkins Updated: 12:00 PM EST December 24, 2020 MAYVILLE, N.Y. The Village of Mayville s water is safe to drink again. Chautauqua County officials say the PFNA levels in the water continue to go down, making it safe to begin using the water for cooking, drinking and any other household uses as of December 24. Water samples taken on Monday shows PFNA is non-detectable to 59.5 parts per trillion. The county hopes to continue to bring that level down with having brought well #4 online and flushing the village s water storage tank with the clean water from well #4.
